Scafell Sky Ultra
The Scafell Sky Ultra is a mountain ultramarathon in the Lake District held on 05 June 2027. The route covers 63 km with 4400 m of ascent and starts and finishes at the Lanty Slees Stickle Barn events centre in Great Langdale. The course passes over Kirk Fell, through Wasdale, up and over Scafell Pike and then into Great Langdale before continuing to the Coniston fells, including the Prison Band between Swirl How and Wetherlam, and returning to the events centre.
The event includes three fully supplied feed stations and manned checkpoints offering real food. Electronic timing and tracking are provided by Open Tracking. Entries include a finishers medal, vegan salty soup at the finish and a professional safety team. The race is part of the Skyrunner National Series for the UK and Ireland and is unrated by any vetting process.
The entry fees are listed at £120, £130 and £140 depending on category. The event allows a maximum time of 15 hours to complete the course. Optional extras available through the entry system include a race tee, branded goat bells for support teams and post race massage.
