Event Overview
The Sayville Summer Series is a collection of five running events held from June to August in Sayville, New York. The series includes races of different distances, with each event taking place in a different location within the area.
Races and Details
The five individual events are:
- Keith Nintzel Memorial 5k on June 6 at Rotary Park (Candee Ave.). The course is described as fast and flat.
- Sayville Fire Department 5k on June 13 at the Sayville Fire Department on Broadway Avenue.
- Community Ambulance 5k on June 21 at Broadway Ave Park.
- Iron Horse 4 Mile on July 4 at the Long Island Maritime Museum in West Sayville.
- Hon. John P. Cohalan Sayville Summerfest 4 Mile Run on August 8 at the intersection of Candee Ave & Main Street.
Series and Community Features
Each race in the series benefits a different local charity or cause. A scoring system ranks participants based on their performance across all five races to determine series winners. Awards, including cash prizes for overall and masters categories, are presented after the final race. Age group winners also receive gift certificates.
Early packet pickup is available the day before each race at the Sayville Running Company's temporary warehouse location. Race-day packet pickup begins 1.5 hours before each event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
