Saxonburg Truthahntrab 5K and 1K Fun Run
The Saxonburg Truthahntrab is a community running event held on November 28, 2026, in Saxonburg, Pennsylvania. It includes two distances:
- 5K
- 1K Fun Run
Proceeds support the Knoch cross country and track and field programs. The 5K is an out-and-back course that starts and finishes at Roebling Park, follows a lap around town, reaches the former Saxony Farms rolling pastures and lake, and returns to the park. The course is almost entirely paved with a short gravel section near the turnaround. The 1K consists of one lap around town finishing at the park; all 1K finishers receive a turkey trot ribbon.
Awards include trophies for the top three overall male and female finishers, medals for the top three in each age group, trophies for age-group winners in 0-9, 10-14, and 15-19, and awards for the top three teams (team score is the total time of the top three runners; no gender requirement). Post-race snacks will include Bavarian soft pretzels, hot chocolate, and coffee. Early packet pickup is scheduled the Friday before the race at Speckled Hen Chocolate Company, 656 Saxonburg Blvd, Saxonburg, PA. Online registration closes the evening before the race; in-person registration and packet pickup are available with exact cash, check, or Venmo.
