Saxonburg Truthahntrab 5K and 1K Fun Run
The Saxonburg Truthahntrab takes place on November 28, 2026 in Saxonburg, Pennsylvania, with the meeting point at 147 N Rebecca St near Roebling Park. Proceeds support the Knoch cross country and track and field programs.
Distances offered:
- 5K
- 1K Fun Run
The 5K is an out-and-back course that begins at Roebling Park, includes a lap through town, then follows roads past former Saxony Farms' rolling pastures and a lake before returning to finish at the park. The course is almost entirely paved with a short gravel section near the turnaround. The 1K completes one lap around town and finishes at the park; all 1K finishers receive a turkey trot ribbon. Trophies and medals are awarded across overall and age-group places, and there is a team competition scored by the total time of the top three runners. Top places and age-group awards are listed for multiple age bands, and the top three teams receive trophies.
Post-race snacks and warm drinks are provided. Strollers and leashed dogs are welcome. Online registration closes the evening before the event; after that, in-person registration is available at early packet pickup the day before and on the morning of the race, with exact cash, check, or Venmo accepted for in-person registration. Registrations submitted by mid-November are guaranteed a race shirt. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
