Saxonburg Truthahntrab 5K and 1K Fun Run
The event on November 28, 2026 in Saxonburg, PA features two running distances and proceeds that support the Knoch cross country and track and field programs. The lineup includes:
- 5K
- 1K Fun Run
The 5K is a scenic out-and-back course that begins and ends at Roebling Park. The route includes a lap around town and extends out to rolling pastures and a lake near the former Saxony Farms. The surface is almost entirely paved with a short gravel section near the turnaround and lake.
The 1K follows one lap around town and finishes at the park. All 1K finishers receive a turkey trot ribbon.
Participants can earn turkey-themed awards. Trophies are given to the top three overall male and female finishers. Medals are awarded to the top three in each age group, with trophies for winners in the 0-9, 10-14, and 15-19 age groups. Teams are scored by the total time of their top three runners and the top three teams receive awards.
Post-race refreshments include Bavarian soft pretzels, hot chocolate, and coffee. Early packet pickup and in-person registration are offered at Speckled Hen Chocolate Company, 656 Saxonburg Blvd. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
