Event Details

The in-person event takes place in Central Park, New York. The specific start and finish location is the Naumburg Bandshell on The Mall. It is scheduled for Saturday, November 7, 2026. The start time is 9:00 AM. The event occurs rain or shine.

Participants can choose between a 5K or a 10K distance. Both running and walking are permitted. There is also an option for participants to complete the event virtually. The virtual participation window is from November 8 to November 16, 2026.

Registration and Amenities

Registration is required. Prices for the 5K and 10K increase after September 7, 2026. The first 300 registrants for the in-person event receive an event t-shirt. Participants who register three weeks before race day can have their name printed on their race bib.

Course and Facilities

The course has one water station along the route and another at the finish line. The 5K course is USATF certified. Public bathrooms are available under the walkway between the Naumburg Bandshell and Bethesda Fountain.

Awards

Prizes are awarded to the top three male and female overall finishers in both the 5K and 10K races.

Beneficiary

The event benefits the Zambezi Elephant Fund (ZEF). The organization supports anti-poaching rangers and community education projects in Zimbabwe's Zambezi Valley. In previous years, the run has contributed over $330,000 to these conservation efforts. Participants can make additional donations to specific projects, such as funding ranger equipment, family rations, or educational programs.
