Saving the Elephants 5K & 10K Run/Walk 2026
The annual Saving the Elephants 5K and 10K Run/Walk takes place on Saturday, November 7, 2026 at the Naumburg Bandshell in Central Park, New York. The event offers both in-person and virtual participation.

Event amenities include event swag to be announced and public bathrooms located under the walkway between the bandshell and the Bethesda Fountain. The 5K course is USATF certified. There is one water station along the course and an additional water station at the finish area.
Awards are given to the top three male and top three female overall finishers in both the 5K and 10K. In-person bib pickup is available at the Naumburg Bandshell on race day; runners who register at least three weeks in advance can have their name printed on their bib. Virtual participants may upload times and photos during the event window from November 7 to November 15 and may receive mailed bibs when eligible.
The event supports the Zambezi Elephant Fund. Past contributions for elephant conservation total about $330,000 over the past five years. Suggested fundraising minimums and specific donation options are listed for items such as ranger supplies, family rations, aerial surveillance, and educational virtual reality projects.
