Saving the Elephants 5K & 10K Run/Walk
The event takes place on November 7, 2026 at the Naumburg Bandshell in Central Park, New York (307 The Mall, NY 10019). It offers both in-person and virtual participation and supports the Zambezi Elephant Fund’s conservation work in Zimbabwe.
Available distances include:
- 5K in-person or virtual; virtual entries valid 11/7 to 11/15
- 10K in-person or virtual; virtual entries valid 11/7 to 11/15
Registration options list fees that include processing charges and may vary with added options such as donations and purchase protection. Participants who register at least three weeks before the event will have their name printed on their race bib. In-person bib pickup is handled at the Naumburg Bandshell on race day.
Course and amenities: the 5K is USATF certified and the route includes one water station on course plus water at the finish. Public restrooms are available under the walkway between the bandshell and Bethesda Fountain. Race swag is to be announced. Awards are given to the top three male and female overall finishers in each distance.
Fundraising and donations: a suggested fundraising minimum is $100. Donation options list specific support levels, for example $1,000 to keep an anti-poaching vehicle operational, $500 to equip a ranger for patrols, $250 for an educational virtual reality project, $100 to feed rangers’ families for a month, and $60 for one hour of aerial surveillance.
