Event overview
The Saving the Elephants Run/Walk takes place on Saturday, November 7, 2026, in Central Park at the Naumburg Bandshell (307 The Mall, New York, NY 10019). The event offers both a 5K and a 10K run/walk and also has virtual participation options. The certified 5K course is USATF certified. There is one water station along the course and one at the finish. Prizes are awarded to the top three male and female overall finishers in both the 5K and 10K.

Charity, registration and logistics
The event supports the Zambezi Elephant Fund (ZEF) and has contributed funds to elephant conservation; the text notes $330,000 raised over the past five years. ZEF’s current focus includes support for rangers (equipment, family rations, vehicle support) and community programs such as educational virtual reality projects. Donation options list specific giving levels and intended uses, including vehicle support, ranger equipment, virtual reality education, family rations, and aerial surveillance.
Registration includes in-person and virtual options with stated base prices and processing fees. Race shirts are provided to the first 300 registrants (sizes not guaranteed). Bib pickup is handled in person at the Naumburg Bandshell on race day; virtual participants may upload times and photos during the event virtual window of 11/8 to 11/16.
