Save a Stray 5K & Walk : Freeport, Maine
Save a Stray 5K & Walk takes place on August 15, 2026 in Freeport, Maine. The event offers three participation options: a timed 5K run, a one mile walk in downtown Freeport, and a virtual participation option.

The 5K begins and ends at Mast Landing School, 20 Mollymauk Ln, in Freeport. The one mile walk starts at Morse Elementary School, 21 Morse St, near L.L.Bean in downtown Freeport. Virtual participants may register to support the event without attending in person.
Registration opens June 15, 2026. Standard registration fees listed for the event are $35 for the 5K, $30 for the one mile walk, and $25 for the virtual option. Day of event registration is available at the race locations with higher fees for in-person entries. Commemorative T shirts are provided to registrants who register by July 26; availability after that date is not guaranteed. Packet and T shirt pickup are available on the day of the event at the listed locations.
Prizes include gift cards for top male and female finishers in each age group and additional prizes for the top overall male and female finishers. Results will be posted at the event and on the event webpage the day of the race.
