Savannah Ultra Urban 50k Run
The Savannah Ultra Urban 50k is a self supported, urban 50 kilometer run held in Savannah, GA and organized by Run 4 a Reason. Entry to the event is free and the field is capped at 25 runners. The event uses a changing course that is updated each year to include different segments of Savannah's culturally rich areas.
Participants navigate city streets and sidewalks; parts of the course travel through busy sections of Savannah. Runners are asked to be attentive to traffic and other users, to run on sidewalks when available, and to run facing traffic where needed. The route passes grocery and convenience stores, but runners should carry sufficient fluids, gels, and fuel for the full 50 kilometer distance.
The event is self supported and commonly run in small pace groups. Organizers emphasize safety and mutual awareness among runners during the course.
