About the race
Sav-On Event Rentals hosts the first annual Independence Day 5K in Saugerties Village. The event follows the historic Saugerties Firemen's Parade route and will be closed to traffic so runners use the parade corridor through Main Street and Partition Street. The course includes a loop through the Historic Home District and passes Victorian homes and traditional Upstate architecture.
The event offers support and features along the course, including pit stops every half mile with vintage hot rods and cheering sections. After the run, participants receive free traditional barbecue and front row seating for the Independence Day parade. Parking is available at Catine Field adjacent to the registration facility. The race site is associated with the Frank D. Greco Memorial Senior Citizen Recreation Center at 207 Market Street in Saugerties.
