The Donut Dash at The Last Hop, Staines
The Donut Dash is a 7 hour Time Challenge held along a stretch of the River Thames near Staines. Runners choose how far to go within the time limit; the minimum official finisher distance is 3 km. The course is fully signed and follows mainly well made paths and tarmac with a very short grass section, so road shoes are suitable year round. A 3 km turn point and a 5 km turn point are provided within the lap to meet UK Athletics age rules.
Distances available include:
- 3 km minimum finisher distance
- 5 km and 10 km options
- Half Marathon
- Marathon
- 50 km and Ultra Marathon
- Time Challenge flexible distance
A full lap is normally 7 km (4.37 miles) but may be altered to a shorter loop depending on course conditions. It is three laps for a half marathon, six for a marathon, and seven or more for an ultra.
Finishers who complete at least 3 km receive a themed medal and goody bag; distance pins are awarded for half-marathon and longer and are attached to the medal ribbon. An aid table and drinks are available at the start/finish of each lap with savoury, sweet, fruit, cheese and vegan items. Toilets are available at The Last Hop; there are no separate changing rooms or showers. Bridge Street Car Park in Staines is available for parking. A bag drop is provided but it is not secure. Headphones are allowed and participants should be considerate of other path users. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
