Event Overview
The Pop-Up Lucky Dip Medal Run in Northampton is a flexible time challenge event held at Northampton Active. Participants have seven hours to complete their chosen distance on a course composed of well-maintained paths and trails around the Northampton Washlands. The event is open to runners and walkers of all abilities.
Distances
Participants can choose to run any distance starting from 3 km, or continue for the full seven-hour duration. The course is based on a lap of approximately 8.5 km (5.25 miles), with specific turn points for shorter distances. Available distances include:
- 3 km
- 5 km
- 10 km
- Half Marathon (2.5 laps)
- Marathon (5 laps)
- 50 km (just under 6 laps)
- Ultra Marathon (6 laps or more)
Course and Facilities
The route follows public footpaths and is subject to minor changes based on health and safety reviews. An aid table located at the start and finish of each lap provides a selection of sweet and savoury snacks, including vegan options and various drinks.
Venue facilities include toilets, though there are no changing rooms or showers. A bag drop area is available at the start/finish line, but it is not a secure storage area. Limited parking is available at the venue, with additional paid parking located nearby.
Finisher Rewards
All participants who complete at least 3 km receive a fox-themed medal and a goody bag with vegan options available. Runners completing a Half Marathon or longer are also eligible for specific distance pins to attach to their medal ribbon. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
