Event details
The 6th Hannington Hike is scheduled for 8 March 2026 and is organised by LDWA - Beds, Bucks and Northants. The venue is Wellingborough Grammarians Memorial Sports Field, Sywell Road, Wellingborough, NN8 6BS (Grid Ref: SP 856 690; what3words: tiles.snaps.cheeks). The event offers two routes:
- 26.6 miles
- 15.5 miles
Entry fees are listed as LDWA member £10, non-LDWA £15, and under 18s free. Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult. Priority entry is offered to LDWA members. There will be no entries on the day and places are not transferable or substitutable.
Route, facilities and rules
Each route uses a written route description and numbered checkpoints - two checkpoints on the 15.5 mile route and three on the 26.6 mile route. Entrants must download and print their own route description; GPX files and route details will be available on the BBN website from 28 February 2026. Maps covering the routes are OS LR 141 & 152 or OS EXP 223 & 224; marked maps will be displayed at the start.
The entry fee includes hot and cold drinks, biscuits at the start, snacks at checkpoints and a light meal at the finish. Vegetarian options will be provided and some vegan food may be available, but other dietary requirements cannot be guaranteed. No dogs are allowed on this event. Finishers receive a certificate and a free badge on request; a certificate and badge are also given for completing the BBN triple challenge.
