Event
The 6th Hannington Hike is an organised walking and running event on Sunday 8 March 2026 at Wellingborough Grammarians Memorial Sports Field, Sywell Road, Wellingborough NN8 6BS (Grid Ref: SP 856 690; what3words: tiles.snaps.cheeks). The event is organised by LDWA - Beds, Bucks and Northants. Entry fees are: LDWA members £10, non-LDWA £15, under 18s free. Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult. Entries include refreshments and a finish meal; no entries will be accepted on the day and places are not transferable.
Priority entry is available to LDWA members until 31 December 2025. Open entry for all participants begins on 2 January 2026. Entries listed so far show 121 participants.
Course and logistics
There are two route options:
- 26.6 miles
- 15.5 miles
The routes use Northamptonshire rolling countryside and include checkpoints (two on the 15.5 mile route, three on the 26.6 mile route). Participants must download and print their own route description; route descriptions, checkpoint opening and closing times, and GPX files will be available on the BBN website from 28 February 2026. Maps covering OS LR 141 & 152 or OS EXP 223 & 224 apply. Required equipment includes the printed route description, a compass and a personal mug (mugs will not be supplied at checkpoints). Parking is on site under marshal direction. Dogs are not allowed. Certificates and badges are awarded to finishers; a free badge is available on request. Cancellation before 23 February 2025 carries a £2 admin fee; after that date refunds are not given unless a place is reallocated. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
