6th Hannington Hike
The event is a one-day hike starting from Wellingborough Grammarians Memorial Sports Field, Sywell Road, Wellingborough (NN8 6BS). It offers two mapped routes through the Northamptonshire rolling countryside. Distances available:
- 26.6 miles, three checkpoints
- 15.5 miles, two checkpoints
Entry fees differ for members and non-members and under 18s enter free; under 18s must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Entries open 2 January 2026 and close 6 March 2026. There will be no entries on the day and places are not transferable or substitutable.
The entry fee includes hot and cold drinks throughout, biscuits at the start, snacks at all checkpoints and a light meal at the finish from 12 noon. Vegetarian options will be catered for and some vegan food may be available but this cannot be guaranteed. Refreshments are prepared under uncontrolled conditions and entrants should judge suitability themselves.
Participants must download and print their own route description; route descriptions will not be available on the day. GPX files and route details will be published in advance. Required equipment includes the route description, a compass and a mug; no mugs will be supplied at checkpoints. Maps covering the routes are OS LR 141 and 152 or OS EXP 223 and 224. On-site parking is provided; marshals will direct parking. No dogs are allowed. If a participant retires they must inform a walk official; return transport is provided from checkpoints only.
