The Flying Fox - Northampton
The Flying Fox is a 7 hour Time Challenge event on 21/03/2026 at Northampton Active, Bedford Rd, Northampton NN4 7AA. The event is organised by Saturn Too Limited in conjunction with Circuit Running Events. The course is around the Northampton Washlands on well maintained paths and trail. A full lap measures 5.25 miles (8.5 km) but the regular course may be changed after a health and safety review. Minimum distances are 3 km for juniors and 5 km for adults, with 3 km and 5 km turn points on the lap. Parking at the venue is limited and nearby parking may incur charges. Toilets are available; there are no separate changing facilities or showers. A non-secure bag area is provided at the start and finish. The event is held on public footpaths.
Distances and prizes
- 3 km - minimum distance for juniors.
- 5 km - open to entrants aged 12 and over.
- 10 km - open to entrants aged 16 and over.
- Half Marathon - open to entrants aged 17 and over.
- Marathon - open to entrants aged 18 and over.
- 50 km - open to entrants aged 20 and over.
- Ultra Marathon - open to entrants aged 20 and over.
- 7 hour Time Challenge - run as many laps as desired within seven hours.
Finishers who complete at least 3 km receive a fox themed medal. Distance pins are issued for Half-Marathon, Mega-Half, Marathon, 50 km and Ultra, attached to the medal ribbon. Finishers receive a goody bag, with a vegan option available. An aid table and drinks table are provided at the start/finish of each lap, offering drinks and snacks including vegan options.
