The Christmas Jumper Jaunt

The Christmas Jumper Jaunt is a midweek running event hosted by Saturn Running at Wraysbury Skiff and Punting Club, Riverside, Egham TW20 0AA. Festive jumpers or attire are encouraged but not mandatory. The event aims to keep entry costs low so runners can build numbers or pursue personal goals.

This is a 7 hour Time Challenge that lets participants choose their own distance. The minimum official distance is 3km, which forms part of a lap. A full lap is listed as 7km (4.37 miles) but may be changed to a 3.28 mile loop depending on course conditions. There are 3km and 5km turn points within the lap to help younger runners meet UK Athletics distance rules. Three laps equal a half marathon, six laps a marathon, seven or more laps count as an ultra. A 50km option is also available.

The course follows a stretch of the River Thames and is fully signed. About 60 percent of the route is on a well made path or tarmac; the rest is grass and light trail that can become muddy. Road shoes are suitable year round while trail shoes may help on softer sections. The course layout may change subject to health and safety review and land owner approval.

Finishers who complete at least 3km receive a medal. Distance pins are awarded for half-marathon distance and above and are attached to the medal ribbon. Finishers receive a goody bag with a vegan option available. An aid table with a selection of savoury, sweet, fruit, cheese and vegan items is provided at the start and finish of each lap. Toilets are available at The Last Hop but there are no dedicated changing rooms or showers. A pay on exit carpark is at Runnymede Pleasure Grounds. A bag drop is available but is not secure. Headphones are allowed. Final race day instructions are sent by email and number pick up is on the day at race registration. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
