Sasamat Ice Cracker Open Water Swim and SwimRun Challenge
The Sasamat Ice Cracker takes place on May 10, 2026 at Sasamat Lake, White Pine Beach in Belcarra Regional Park, Port Moody, British Columbia. The program includes open water swims, multiple SwimRun formats and a new trail run.
Open water swim distances:
- 1.0 K per loop
- 3.0 K
- 5.0 K
Mudskipper SwimRun events:
- 3.5 K Try It with two swims and two runs
- 6.5 K one lap
- 13 K two laps
- 13 K relay teams of two with one swimmer and one runner alternating at transitions
The Sasamat 10K Trail Run is a three-lap race around the lake.
Race notes and equipment: swim caps are provided and must be worn for identification; a race number is inked on the upper back or shoulder. Water temperatures are typically 13 to 15 degrees Celsius and wetsuits are recommended. Facilities include washrooms and food. There is no rain date; a delay or cancellation would occur only for lightning. The event lists a partnership with Childhood Cancer Canada and a wetsuit sponsor.
