Sapiston 5K Trail Run
The Sapiston 5K Trail Run takes place at Honington & Sapiston Village Hall in Suffolk on 18 October 2026. The route is a loop around Sapiston and Honington in the Black Bourn Valley and uses a mix of footpaths, byways and minor roads.
The course combines road and off-road sections and crosses a few minor roads and a short section of the Black Bourn river. The terrain is undulating and mixed, including sand, stones, grass, tarmac, woodland tracks and fields. Participants will encounter gates that must be closed behind them. Depending on the weather, there may be mud and puddles. The event is not suitable for running buggies.
Volunteer marshals are stationed at checkpoints but are not permitted to assist at road crossings. A tail runner or walker follows the field to help ensure everyone returns safely. Chip timing is used and there is no cut off time. Runners under 16 must stay within an arm’s length of a responsible adult. Headphones are allowed but should be removed on on-road sections. Dogs are not permitted.
Facilities at the Village Hall include free hot and cold drinks, a bag drop and toilets. Bespoke medals are provided for all finishers. Car parking is available at the Village Hall; car sharing is requested to reduce disturbance to local residents. The event is organised in partnership with the Brecks Landscape Partnership and Suffolk County Council’s Rights of Way and Access Team.
