Financial proceeds from the event are directed toward the Santa Fe Ten Memorial, which is planned as a space for reflection and remembrance.
Participants can choose from several event categories depending on their age and preference:
- Adult 5K Run/Walk

The competition includes various recognition categories. Medals are awarded to the top three male and female finishers in the 5K across several age groups, starting from age 10 through 65 and over. Special awards are also given for the top three finishers in the Kids 1K, as well as for categories such as champion dog walker, champion dual runner, and champion team.
