Santa Claus Classic
The Santa Claus Classic is a 10 km running event held at Callaway Gardens, with the course routed through the park's "Fantasy in Lights" display around Robin Lake Beach in Pine Mountain, GA. The course passes themed miles including marshmallow, chocolate, and candy cane sections and is open to both runners and walkers, including strollers.
There are 5-6 aid stations on course providing water and Cerasport. Parking is available in the Robin Lake Beach parking area. Entrance into the gardens is free for athletes and spectators; spectators may use the trolley or drive through the lights for an additional charge arranged through Callaway Gardens.
Age group categories are offered for male and female competitors starting at 14-and-under, then 15-19 and continuing in five-year increments up to 70+. Awards are given to the top three finishers in each age group. Participants who register early are guaranteed a T-shirt and finisher medal; these items are not guaranteed for on-site or late registrations.
Safety requirements include a mandatory visibility device for all participants, such as a light, glow stick, reflective vest, or flashlight. The organizer reserves the right to alter the course or cancel the event in hazardous weather; refunds are not offered, though deferrals may be considered with supporting documentation.
