Santa Clarita Thanksgiving Day 5K
The Santa Clarita Thanksgiving Day 5K is the fifth annual edition of a community road race held at Heritage Park in Santa Clarita, CA. The course is all flat, runs on paved roads and is 100 percent on the Santa Clarita bike path with no auto traffic on the race route.
The event is described as walker friendly. Participants have a seven hour finish limit, which equates to roughly 15 minutes per mile, so walkers, stroller users, and walking clubs are accommodated. The course will have mile markers, volunteers at major turns and water stations, and is presented as a certified Boston qualifier.
On-course support includes cupless water stations where runners self dispense water. Reusable cups are available for purchase at packet pickup for three dollars. Portable toilets are provided on course about every 1.5 miles, with additional units near the start area.
Awards are given to the top three overall men and women with special medals, top three in each age group for all race distances, and top three teams in the team competition. Race materials include measured race distances, a custom finisher medal, an event day dry-fit shirt, and a reusable goody bag. Packet pickup is held the Saturday before the race at 25050 Peachland Ave #105, Santa Clarita, CA 91321 from 10:00 to 14:00. There is no race day registration.
