Santa Clarita Marathon
The Santa Clarita Marathon is a road race event held at Heritage Park in Santa Clarita, California. Distances offered include a full marathon, a half marathon, a 10K, and a 5K. The course is USATF certified and presented as suitable for Boston qualification and national ranking.
An early start option is available for half marathon runners who need extra time to finish; athletes who choose this option must notify organizers in advance so their bib number is captured for official timing. Runners using the early option should plan to carry their own water for the opening part of the race because not all aid stations will be in place immediately.
Aid stations are provided along the course, but the event has a cupless policy at water stations for safety and environmental reasons. Runners may purchase a reusable cup at packet pickup or on race day. Portable toilets are placed on the course at regular intervals and there are free standing restrooms at the park.
The marathon has a seven hour time limit. Awards include top three overall men and women for each race, age group medals for all distances, and team competition medals for top teams. Packet pickup occurs the Saturday before race day at a Santa Clarita chiropractic office on Peachland Avenue. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
