Event Overview
The Downtown Visalia Kiwanis 0.5K Donut Run/Walk and Shoe Fling is a lighthearted event taking place on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Mooney Grove Park in Visalia, next to the Tulare County Museum. The event is organized by the Downtown Visalia Kiwanis, with proceeds benefiting projects that serve children in the community.
The 0.5K Course
The main event is a 0.5K run/walk. This distance is equivalent to half a kilometer, one lap plus 180 feet on a track, or about five and a half football fields. An aid station at the halfway point offers a donut hole break. All participants receive a donut and a first-place medal at the finish line. Strollers are welcome.
Registration and Categories
Three participant categories are available:
- Adult registration.
- Youth (Under 18) registration.
- Kids (10 and under) can participate for free with a paid adult, though this option does not include a t-shirt.
Additional Activities
The event includes a costume contest with a trophy for the Best Dressed Donut. After the run/walk, a Shoe Fling competition is held, where participants kick a shoe for distance, with divisions for adults, youth, and kids.
