Sandia Mountain Shadows Trail Run
The Sandia Mountain Shadows Trail Run is scheduled for Sunday, October 4, 2026. This is the 22nd annual event organized by RunFit, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. The event starts at Piedra Lisa Park in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and the course offers views of the Rio Grande Valley, Albuquerque, the Sandia Mountain foothills, and nearby hot air balloons.
Distances offered:
- 15K trail distance
- 10K trail distance
- 5K trail distance
Event amenities and competition details include finisher medals for all 10K and 5K participants, event shirts for all participants, and age-group and overall awards. Course maps are available for the 5K and 10K routes. Race day registration and packet pickup are at Piedra Lisa Park; an early packet pickup is scheduled Saturday, October 2, 2026, 11:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Fleet Feet Sports, North Towne Plaza, 5901 Wyoming Suite R, Albuquerque NM 87109. Out-of-town participants may pick up packets on race morning. To be timed and qualify for awards, participants must keep the timing chip attached to the back of the bib and wear the bib on their front at all times.
