Sandia Mountain Shadows Trail Run
The Sandia Mountain Shadows Trail Run is scheduled for Sunday, October 4, 2026 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The event offers trail distances of 15K, 10K, and 5K and uses Piedra Lisa Park at 13101 Menaul Blvd. NE as the start location. This edition is the 22nd annual running of the event.
The course passes through foothill terrain with views of the Rio Grande Valley, the city of Albuquerque, and the Sandia Mountain foothills. Participants may also see hot air balloons visible below from parts of the route. Course maps are provided for the 5K and 10K routes.
Race services include finisher medals for all 10K and 5K participants, event shirts for all participants, and both age-group and overall awards. Packet pickup is scheduled for Saturday, October 2, 2026 from 11:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Fleet Feet Sports, North Towne Plaza, 5901 Wyoming Suite R, Albuquerque NM 87109. Out-of-town participants can collect packets on race morning from 7:00 to 7:45 a.m.
