Sandhills Flyers 5K
The Sandhills Flyers 5K is a trail run that begins on the Sandhills Community College campus and winds through Southern Pines Reservoir Park in Pinehurst, NC. The course is officially certified by USATF (Certificate #NC22019BDS). Race timing is provided by Gate City Timing Company.
Event services and features include a pre-race warm-up, pre- and post-race massages provided by the SCC Therapeutic Massage program, and a 360-degree photo booth. Race awards are given to overall and age-group 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers. Food and beverage vendors listed for the event include Ashley's Sweet Designs custom cookies, Billie's Boujee Lemonade truck, and Birdie Brews Coffee Co. truck. Fitness and wellness vendors will also be present. The event is dog friendly. The Flyers Indoor Volleyball team has a match following the race.
Registration carries a $30 fee and registering by September 6 guarantees a race t-shirt. In-person registration and packet pick-up are available the day before at Pace Yourself Run Co. in downtown Southern Pines and on-site at Sandhills Community College on race morning.
The event takes place rain or shine. In cases of severe or unsafe weather the event may be delayed, modified or canceled; no refunds will be issued for weather-related cancellations.
