Sand to Serengeti takes place on May 16, 2027 at Green Lakes State Park in Fayetteville, NY. The event offers two trail race distances that run through the park and around the lakes.

• 10 miles course around Round Lake and the Serengeti area
• 5 miles shorter loop that touches the Serengeti and returns

The 10 mile route begins at the sandy beach of Green Lakes, follows trails around Round Lake, climbs toward the area locals call the Serengeti, continues around the higher sections, and then descends back toward the lakes and the beach. The 5 mile course also starts at the sandy beach, reaches part of the Serengeti area, and returns around the lakes.

Participants should expect varied trail surfaces, including sand at the start and native park trails along the route.
