About the race
Sand to Serengeti is a trail-running event held at Green Lakes State Park in Fayetteville, New York. It offers two distances: a 10-mile trail run and a 3-mile option. The route starts on the sandy beach at Green Lakes, winds around Round Lake, climbs toward what locals call the Serengeti, then circles the top and descends back to the beach.
The course is well marked with beautiful views across beach, lakes, and fields, and includes aid stations with water. Perks include a finisher medal for the 10-mile, a sports towel for the 3-mile, free race-day photos, and local business support. It is part of the Salty Miles Trail Series.
