Distances and Registration
The event offers two distances: a 5 km and a 10 km. A virtual run option is available for participants who cannot attend on the day.
The registration fee for the 5 km is $30 until July 31, after which it increases to $35. The registration fee for the 10 km is $45 until July 31, after which it increases to $50. Prices increase by an additional $5 on race morning. Race day registration is available, but t-shirt sizes are not guaranteed. Walkers are welcome.
Event Details and Schedule
The event takes place at Mount Trashmore in Virginia Beach. Participants receive a finisher’s medal, a technical (Dri-Fit) event shirt, and chip timing. T-shirts are guaranteed for runners registered before July 29; after that date, they are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Packet pickup is available at the event. The 10 km starts at 7:45 AM and the 5 km starts at 8:00 AM. Participants are recommended to arrive one hour before their event start time.
Course and Amenities
The course uses the venue Mount Trashmore. There are three water stations on the 10 km course and one water station on the 5 km course. Gatorade will be available at some stations. Restrooms are available onsite at the park.
Results and Awards
Live results are posted on Athlinks.com, and a QR code is available at the race for immediate viewing. Final results with series points are posted on the organizer's website the Monday after the race. Runner tracking via SMS is available upon registration.
Awards are given to the top three men and women overall. Awards are also given for first and second place male and female in these age groups: 19 & Under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. Top three overall finishers are not eligible for age group awards.
Series Information
Participant points count towards the organizer’s Year-Long 5k, 10k & Back of the Pack Series, as well as the Summer Series. The "Back of the Pack" is a series for participants with an average pace higher than 12 minutes per mile.
Policies
The event proceeds rain or shine. Race officials may delay, change, or postpone the event due to weather conditions. Registered runners are notified via email of any changes. The refund and transfer policy is available on the organizer's website.
