San Pasqual Valley Trail Race
The San Pasqual Valley Trail Race is held in San Pasqual Valley, Escondido, California. The event offers three distance options and takes place along trails that pass vineyards, orange groves, and grass fields near a staging lot on Bandy Canyon Road.
Distances offered:
- 20 Mile
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
- 10K
Course surfaces are primarily single track, composing about 75 percent of the route. The 10K is described as relatively flat. The Half Marathon and 20 Mile courses follow an out-and-back layout that includes two summits of Raptor Ridge. Elevation gain varies by distance and is listed between about 200 and 1,200 feet depending on the race.
The finish area includes a free wine tasting provided in partnership with local vineyards. The event is limited to 450 runners. The Half Marathon serves as the final Championship qualifier for that distance. Packet pickup is organized at local running stores in the days before the event.
Logistics and results are tracked by the event organizers. The race is presented as an annual event in the region with previous editions and published race results. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
