San Pasqual Valley Trail Race
The San Pasqual Valley Trail Race holds its 10th annual edition in the scenic wine country of Escondido, California. The event takes place on a course that winds through local wineries and orange groves, offering views of the San Pasqual Valley.
Participants can choose from four different event distances:
- 20 Mile
- 14 Mile (Hefty Half Marathon)
- 10 km
- Kids dash
The 10 km course is a relatively flat route through the valley. The 20 Mile and 14 Mile options are out-and-back courses that include a double ascent of Raptor Ridge. In 2027, the half marathon distance has been adjusted to 14 miles to include an additional aid station and a more visible turnaround point. This event also serves as the final championship for the half marathon category.
The event is limited to 450 total participants. At the finish line, local vineyards provide a wine tasting for runners. The race site is located at 18194 Bandy Canyon Rd, and the course utilizes the surrounding trail network near the vineyards. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
