About the race
The San Marcos Half Marathon takes place on February 7, 2027 at the Tanger Outlet Mall in San Marcos, Texas. The event includes a half marathon, a 10k, a 5k and a very short fun run. It is Race 2 of 4 in the Texas Hill Country Series.

The event is organized by ScallyWompus and was formerly known as Moe's Better Half Marathon; after 33 years the race organization changed hands. The start area is at the Tanger Outlet Mall, a short distance from downtown San Marcos, Texas State University, and the San Marcos River.
Registration fees are listed per person: the half marathon is $99, the 10k $55, the 5k $45, and the 0.05k fun run $45. Surcharges apply in the final registration windows and on race day. Packet pickup is available at Fleet Feet San Antonio Culebra Commons with a specified pickup window the day before the race, and race morning pickup begins at 6:30 a.m. at the start line.
Course materials include course maps, an elevation map, and a USATF certified course for the half marathon. All finishers receive a medal. Awards are given 1st through 4th for each distance and across age groups from 14 and under up to 90 plus. Overall and masters awards are based on gun time; age group awards use chip time because starts are run in waves.
The event has a no refund policy; transfers incur a fee and no transfers are allowed after race day. Late registrants may not receive custom bibs and shirts may be limited. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
