Sam's Rainbow Run
Sam's Rainbow Run is an annual community running event held at the CSU Oval in Fort Collins, Colorado. The event honors Sam, a recent Colorado State University graduate who died in a plane crash in September 2022. He had graduated in December 2021 and begun flight training in the summer of 2022.
This is the fourth annual running of the event. All proceeds are donated to the CSU Pride Resource Center to help students with tuition, housing, food, and other essentials.
The event offers multiple race options:
- 5K Run/Walk
- Student 5K
- Kids 1 mile (free)
- Virtual 5K
A free kids 1 mile run is included to encourage family participation and community involvement in celebration of Pride and support for students in need. The event combines in-person and virtual options and directs fundraising to campus resources for students. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
