Sam-a-Palooza Family Walk & Run

The Sam-a-Palooza Family Walk & Run is a family-friendly event held on Saturday, May 2, 2026. It is held in memory of Sam Scherer, who passed away from cholangiocarcinoma in August 2022. The event aims to honor his positive energy and love for bringing people together.

Participants can choose their level of participation. The course is a loop around Shrewsbury's Wehner Park. Options include completing one lap, which is 0.6 miles, or a full five laps, which is the 3.1-mile (5K) distance. Strollers, wagons, and carriers are welcome.

All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation (CCF), a global nonprofit organization. Its mission is to find a cure and improve the quality of life for those affected by bile duct cancer through research, advocacy, and education.
