The Saltmarsh Half Marathon
The Saltmarsh event on 18 April 2027 is a half marathon that follows the Saltmarsh Coast trail along the River Crouch from South Woodham Ferrers to Riverside Park in Burnham on Crouch. The route is mostly off road and is open to runners and walkers, with a cut off time of four hours.
The route will be fully marked and a GPX file will be issued nearer the event to reflect any adjustments. Aid provision includes a water stop at 3.5 miles and full aid stations at 5.5 miles and 9.8 miles stocked with snacks such as jelly babies, flapjacks, fruit, nuts and products from Tribe and Chia Charge. Squash and flat coke will be available for refilling flasks and reusable cups. The event is cupless; reusable cups are available to purchase during registration and a limited stock will be sold on race day.
Transport and logistics information includes a pre race shuttle from Riverside Park to the start at South Woodham Ferrers Rugby Club with limited tickets available at registration. Car parks are near the start and finish; the rugby club is for drop off only. A bus will transfer bags from the start to the finish. The event is a UKA affiliated member with a Trail Running Association race permit. Waste disposal is provided at aid stations to reduce litter.
