Event details
The Saltmarsh Half Marathon is scheduled for 19 April 2026 and starts at Marsh Farm Road, South Woodham Ferrers, with the finish at Riverside Park, Burnham-on-Crouch. The event is a Half Marathon open to entrants aged 17 and over on the event date. It is UKA affiliated and holds a permit from the Trail Running Association. Entry prices are listed between £28.50 and £30.50. The event has a cut-off time of 4.5 hours.
Course, support and logistics
The route follows the Saltmarsh Coast trail along the River Crouch and is mostly off road, open to runners and walkers. The final course may measure slightly long, by approximately half a mile, and will be fully marked; a .gpx file will be issued once agreed. Aid stations are located at 5 mi and 9 mi and will offer a variety of snacks (jelly babies, flapjacks, fruit, nuts and products from Tribe and Chia Charge) plus squash and flat coke. The event is cupless to reduce plastic waste; participants may use their own flasks, cups or bladders and reusable cups are available to purchase. A bag-drop bus will transfer bags from the start to the finish. A shuttle will run before the event from the Riverside Park finish to the Marsh Farm start; there is no return shuttle after the race. Free parking is available at Marsh Farm Country Park and there are car parks near the Riverside Park finish. T-shirt size requests placed after 06/03/25 cannot be guaranteed, and sizes may also be unavailable for entries made with less than one month to go.
