Salmon Scramble Su-pear 5k and Fun Run
The Salmon Scramble Su-pear is a community running event held in Buchanan, Michigan at 501 W Smith St. The event includes multiple distances and a limited combo challenge and is in its second annual year. Courses run on a mix of road, paved trail, packed dirt, and grass, with some hilly sections along the McCoy Creek trail system. The route may offer views of migrating salmon along the creek.
All race distances are chip timed and results are provided by Watt's My Time. Finishers in every distance receive a wooden finisher medal made from salvaged wood and laser engraved. Overall awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in the 5k only. The Prickly Pear challenge combines the 1.75 mile and the 5k into one timed effort, has a 16 minute per mile minimum pace expectation, and is limited to 25 participants; participants in this challenge receive an add-on piece for their medals.
Dogs are not permitted. Registration is online only and there are no refunds or transfers. Registrations include a race bib, finisher medal, and post-race refreshments such as water, Gatorade, fruit, and snacks. Parking is available at the Buchanan high school parking lot and nearby side streets. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
