Salmon Run
The Salmon Run takes place in Bend, Oregon on April 17, 2027. The event is organized by Lay It Out Events and offers road races along the Deschutes River with start and finish areas at Riverbend Park.
Three race distances are offered:
- Half marathon
- 10K
- 5K
Packet pick up is at Footzone in downtown Bend on Friday, April 16 from 2:00 PM to 5:30 PM, and bibs may also be picked up on race day one hour before each race. Course maps are available through the Ride With GPS app for each distance. Gear drop tags are provided at packet pick up and on site the morning of the race; participants may leave bags at the bag drop tent and retrieve them after the run.
Aid stations are located on each course and stocked with water, GU brew and GU gels; the half marathon has five aid stations (approximate miles 2.8, 4.8, 7.5, 9.2, 12.1), the 10K has two aid stations (approximate miles 2.6, 5.2), and the 5K has one aid station (approximate mile 2.3) that also supplies a GU electrolyte drink.
Every finisher receives a medal. Runners may select a crew sweatshirt or a performance tee during registration for additional cost. Awards include gift bags and top three awards by gender in Open and Masters categories, plus ribbons for top age group finishers.
The event benefits The Giving Plate, a grassroots food pantry founded in 2010 that operates three hunger relief programs and serves over 500 families monthly. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
