About the race
The Saint Fennessy 4K is an annual St. Patrick’s Day–themed community road race held in Hermantown, MN. The event uses an out-and-back course that starts and finishes at Skyline Social & Games and is listed as a 4K distance. The race is part of the Young Athletes Foundation calendar and is offered with a capacity limit of 900 participants, with registration taken on a first-come, first-served basis.
Adult entry fees follow a tiered schedule: $20 (January 1–January 21), $30 (January 22–February 28), and $40 (March 1–Race Day). Youth entries (ages 18 and under) are free for 2026. All entries include a long sleeve participant shirt; participants may opt to plant a tree instead of receiving a shirt through a partnership with Let’s Plant Trees. Commemorative socks are available for purchase, and each participant receives a free drink ticket or arcade credit for use at the finish-area venue.
Race rules prohibit pets, motor vehicles, bicycles, handcycles, roller skis, inline skates, and unregistered participants on the course. Baby joggers and strollers are allowed but must start at the back of the field. Pushrim wheelchair competitors and other adaptive athletes are encouraged to participate and must follow the event’s wheelchair and adaptive guidance.
The finish area features a St. Patrick’s Day themed post-race party and a costume contest with prizes for Best Overall, Best Group, and Best Kids. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
