Safe Harbors of the Hudson Run/Walk 5K
The Safe Harbors of the Hudson Run/Walk 5K takes place on Saturday, May 9, 2026, in downtown Newburgh, New York. The event is a community run, walk, or stroll that follows a course through Newburgh’s historic district and along sections with Hudson River views.
The 5K is part of the Spring Into Newburgh citywide celebration, which includes the Art on the Block outdoor art market, the Newburgh Farmers’ Market, and Wellness Shines on the Green featuring local wellness vendors and free fitness classes. The event is held rain or shine.
Registration fees listed for the event are $35 for adults in advance and $45 at the event; youth under 18 may register at no cost. All participants receive a race shirt and bib and refreshments before and after the race. Registration is handled at the Safe Harbors Lobby at the Ritz, 107 Broadway, Newburgh, and an awards ceremony is held at the Safe Harbors Green outdoor stage at Broadway and Liberty Street.
Timing is managed by Mid-Hudson Timing and results are posted on the event website. Awards recognize the fastest participants overall by female, male, and non-binary divisions, first in walking and stroller divisions, and winners across age divisions from under 9 through 70 plus.
