Safe Harbors of the Hudson 5K
The Safe Harbors 5K is a community running and walking event held in Newburgh, New York on May 9, 2026. The course passes through the citys historic district and offers views of the Hudson River. Participants may run, walk, or stroll the single 5K distance.
The race is part of Spring Into Newburgh, a citywide celebration that includes the Art on the Block outdoor art market, the Newburgh Farmers' Market, and Wellness Shines on the Green, which features local wellness vendors and free fitness classes. The event is scheduled to proceed rain or shine.
Registration opens January 9, 2026 and closes May 8, 2026. Advance registration fees and day-of-event fees differ: adults age 19 and older are charged $35 in advance and $45 at the event; youth 18 and under have free registration. All participants receive a race shirt and bib and are provided refreshments before and after the race.
Timing and results are handled with chip timing and will be posted on the event website. Awards recognize overall top finishers and age division leaders, with categories for female, male, and non-binary athletes. Additional recognitions include first place in walking and stroller divisions.
