Rye Derby YMCA 5K & 5M
The Rye Derby YMCA Derby is an annual community running event held at the Rye YMCA, 21 Locust Avenue, Rye, NY. The event program includes road races and a family fun run plus on-site activities and food for participants and families. Registration is not yet open.

- 5 Mile race
- 5K run/walk
- 1 Mile Family Fun Run/Walk
Registrants receive a Derby T-shirt while supplies last. The 5 Mile race requires participants to be at least 14 years old. An awards ceremony recognizes top overall finishers and age-group performers. Cash prizes are awarded in the 5 Mile event for the top three overall finishers, and medals or ribbons are given in specified age categories and for the 1 Mile finishers. Team awards include fastest team, most creative attire, and most participants, with a minimum of five team members required to qualify.
The 5M and 5K courses are mostly flat with a few inclines and include three water stations. The 1 Mile course is mostly flat with one steep incline near the midway point. Streets remain open to traffic and the course is supported by volunteers and police. Race-day bib pick up and limited early packet pick up are provided, with a deadline for personalized bib requests noted in the event information.
