Rye Derby YMCA 5K and 5M
This event at the Rye YMCA (21 Locust Avenue, Rye, NY 10580) features road races of multiple distances on a course that is mostly flat with a few inclines. Streets remain open to traffic, and volunteers and police staff the course. Three water stations are set up along the 5M and 5K routes. The 1 mile family run/walk is mostly flat with one steep incline at the midway point.

Race amenities include a Derby T-shirt for registrants while supplies last and an awards ceremony. Participants must be 14 years old to enter the 5 Mile race. Bib pickup is offered early on the Friday and Saturday before the race with specified pickup windows, and day-of pickup begins on the morning of the event.
Awards for the 5 Mile race include cash prizes for the top three overall men and women (1st $600, 2nd $350, 3rd $250) plus a silver tray; medals are awarded to the top two in multiple age groups. The 5K awards top three overall men and women and medals for age groups. Ribbons are given to all 1 Mile finishers. Team awards recognize fastest team, most creative attire, and most participants; teams need a minimum of five members to qualify.
