Rye Derby YMCA 5K and 5M
The Rye Derby YMCA event is an annual running day held at Rye YMCA, 21 Locust Avenue, Rye, NY. It features multiple distances and a family mile, on a course described as mostly flat with a few inclines and three water stations placed along the course. Streets are not closed to traffic; volunteers and police assist on course safety.
Race distances:
- 5 Mile race
- 5K run/walk
- 1 Mile family fun run/walk
Registrants receive a Derby T-shirt while supplies last. The 5 Mile race requires participants to be at least 14 years old. There is an awards ceremony with prize structure for overall finishers and age groups. The 5 Mile race awards cash prizes for the top three overall finishers and medals for the top two in each age group. The 5K awards overall top three and medals for age groups. All 1 Mile finishers receive ribbons.
Team awards include fastest team, most creative attire, and most participants; teams must have at least five members to qualify. Bib pickup is offered early on the Friday and Saturday before the event and begins on race day morning. Registration is not yet open and notifications are available for when registration opens.
