Rye Derby YMCA 5K & 5M
The Rye Derby YMCA is an annual road event held at Rye YMCA, 21 Locust Avenue, Rye, NY. The event includes multiple distances as part of Healthy Kids Day and takes place rain or shine. Registration for the 2027 event is not yet open.

- 5K Run/Walk
- 1 Mile Family Fun Run/Walk
Registrants receive a Derby T-shirt while supplies last. Participants must be at least 14 years old to enter the five mile race. An awards ceremony is held, and complimentary food and family activities are provided on site.
Awards for the five mile race include top three male and female overall prizes with cash awards of $600 for first, $350 for second, and $250 for third. Medals are awarded to the top two male and female finishers in each listed age group from 14-19 through 80+. The 5K awards include top three male and female overall places and medals to the top two in each age group from 14 and under through 80+. Ribbons are given to all finishers of the one mile event.
Team awards recognize fastest team across the 5M and 5K, most creative attire, and most participants. Teams must have at least five members to qualify.
Course notes: the 5M and 5K courses are mostly flat with a few inclines and three water stations. The one mile course is mostly flat with one steeper incline at the midway point. Streets remain open to traffic and volunteers and police staff the course.
Bib pickup is scheduled on the days before the event and on race day; registrants who enter by April 5 are eligible for a personalized race bib. Live results, same day finish line photos, and event photos are provided online. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
