Ryan's Race 5K walk Run
Ryan's Race 5K walk Run is an athletic event held at Odessa High School in Townsend, Delaware. The event takes place on the school grounds and surrounding areas, utilizing a course that begins and ends near Tony Marchio Drive. This event supports the Ryan R. Wagner Scholarship Fund through the Delaware Community Foundation.
The event offers the following participation options:
- 5K Run/Walk: A general category for both participants who intend to run and those who prefer to walk.
- Competitive Walking 5K: A specific category for participants who commit to walking the entire distance without running or jogging.
The race utilizes the MYLAPS BibTag Timing System for electronic chip timing. For awards, top overall male and female finishers, as well as masters, are determined by gun time. Net timing is used for age group awards, which are presented to the top three male and female finishers in ten-year increments, ranging from age 13 and under to 70 and over. There are also specific awards for the top three male and female walkers.
Participants receive a race shirt as part of their registration. The event features post-race refreshments and music for attendees. Due to insurance liability, dogs are not permitted on the course. Registration is non-refundable, and bibs are non-transferable. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
