Rutland Night 10k

Rutland Night 10k takes place at Rutland Water, Normanton, over three evenings in November 2026. The event runs on 5, 6 and 7 November with a dedicated walkers evening on the first night and runners on the following two nights. The distance is 10km and the minimum age is 15 years.

The route starts and finishes at Normanton near the fishing lodge and Normanton Church on the south shore. The traffic free course follows well maintained footpaths along the south shore, along the dam, through Sykes Lane to a turn point at Whitwell Creek (5km) and then retraces to Normanton. The surface is mostly tarmac after the opening section, but there can be damp, muddy or leaf-covered sections in wooded areas. Lights are placed to mark the course and participants must carry a torch; hand torches are acceptable and head torches are recommended.

Entries are prebook only as there are no on-the-day entries; race numbers are collected on the evening. Run entry and walk entry fees include parking at the Normanton car park. Run entries include chip timing, a personalised race number, a finisher medal, a glow wrist band, comprehensive medical support and trophies for podium places. Walk entries include a personalised race number, a finisher medal, a glow wrist band, on-course refreshments and comprehensive medical support.

Event rules note that music players are not permitted, buggies and dogs are not allowed on the run, and dogs are only permitted on the Thursday walk where they must be on a short lead. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
