Rutland Night 10k
Rutland Night 10k is a November event at Rutland Water held over three evenings: walkers on 05/11/2026 and runners on 06/11/2026 and 07/11/2026. The event takes place at Normanton on the south shore and uses a traffic free route on well maintained footpaths. The distance is 10 km and the minimum age is 15 years.
The course starts and finishes in Normanton near the fishing lodge and passes alongside the south shore and the length of the dam. Runners and walkers follow the tarmac track through Sykes Lane to a turn point at Whitwell creek (5 km) and then retrace the route back to Normanton. The route is illuminated around its length and is subtly lit on course; participants must bring a torch, with head torches recommended. After the first few hundred metres most of the route is tarmac, but damp sections, mud and leaf cover are possible in wooded areas and reduced visibility requires caution.
Run entry for 06/11 and 07/11 is listed at £26 and includes chip timing, a personalised race number, parking at the Normanton site, a finisher medal, a glow wrist band, comprehensive medical support and trophies for podium places. Walk entry for 05/11 is listed at £22 and includes a personalised race number, parking at the Normanton site, a finisher medal, a glow wrist band, on course refreshments and comprehensive medical support. Parking in the Normanton car park is included in the entry fee. There are no on the day entries; race numbers are collected on the evening and a race guide and briefing are issued in advance.
