About the race
RushRun events take place in Rushsylvania, Ohio, at 170 Mill Street E. The program includes a country 5k and a separate kids fun run, both based at the church and routed through nearby streets and countryside.
The RushRun 5k follows a country course through Logan County fall scenery. The course begins and ends in front of the church, goes out of town on CR 5, turns left onto T-110 to the halfway marker, then returns to the church.
The RushRun Kids Fun Run has two short courses by age. Ages 1–4 complete a loop around the church. Ages 5–10 follow a roughly 0.5 mile route that starts at the church, goes up the drive to Euclid Street, continues onto Union Street to Bank Street, cuts across the alley back to Euclid, and finishes at the church. Each participating child age 10 and under receives a T-shirt and a pumpkin to paint under volunteer supervision. Parents may participate in the RushRun 5k.
Event features include a best costume contest and a pumpkin collecting contest with awards for the top two costumes and first and second place for pumpkin collecting. Additional awards are given to overall top male and female and first and second place in these age groups: 12 and under, 13–15, 16–19, 20–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, and 60 plus.
