About the race
The Ruralco Longbeach Coastal Challenge is a multi-discipline community event held in Tinwald, Ashburton, New Zealand at 1754 Longbeach Road on Sunday 29 November 2026. The event includes mountain biking, running, walking, and a duathlon, and is organised by Longbeach School together with the Hinds and Districts Lions Club. Proceeds support the local community.
This is the 19th annual event. Notable program elements for 2026 include the second year of the 70km cycling challenge, the third year of the duathlon which includes an option for two-person teams (one member cycles, the other runs), and the third Schools Team Cycling Race for Years 5–8.
