Ashburton River Trail Marathon : March 5–6, 2027
The Ashburton River Trail Marathon takes place along the Ashburton River Trail in Allenton, Ashburton, New Zealand. The course runs mostly under the river canopy and includes winding, undulating trail sections and some road segments on the longer routes. Runners and walkers use shared river trails that offer a mix of surface types and scenery.
The event program includes multiple distances:
- 5 km Walk/Run, including a corporate teams challenge
- 10 km Run extending to Mania-o-roto Scout Park
- 21 km Half marathon combining river trail and road sections
All races start and finish at the Allenton Rugby Football Club grounds on Melrose Road, where parking and participant facilities are available. Registration packs are distributed from the Allenton Rugby clubrooms in the days before the event and on the event weekend. Food and beverages are available for purchase during and after the races. Overnight motorhome and caravan facilities are available for members at the neighbouring NZMCA camp.
