Run/Walk To Save a Life 5K
The Run/Walk To Save a Life 5K is a community sports event held in Hamden, Connecticut. The event starts and finishes at the Multisports Academy. This gathering is held in honor of Christopher Andreozzi to raise awareness about Sudden Cardiac Death (SCD) and arrhythmias.
The event features a single distance for participants:
- 5 km (Run or Walk)
Proceeds from the event benefit the CJA Charitable Foundation, Inc. This organization focuses on its mission of equipping communities with the knowledge and tools necessary to respond to cardiac emergencies. This includes providing CPR education, training, and the placement of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs).
In addition to these direct initiatives, the foundation supports the Sudden Arrhythmia Death Syndrome (SADS) Foundation and the 988 Suicide - Crisis Lifeline. The funds also contribute to academic scholarships at local educational institutions, specifically Hamden High School and the Yale University School of Nursing, to support future healthcare leaders.
