This event is held in honor of Christopher Andreozzi, who passed away suddenly from sudden cardiac death caused by an arrhythmia on May 23, 2023. Proceeds from the event benefit the Christopher J. Andreozzi (CJA) Charitable Foundation.

The CJA Charitable Foundation is dedicated to raising awareness about Sudden Cardiac Death (SCD) and arrhythmias. Its mission includes providing education, training, and equipment such as CPR instruction and Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs). The foundation also supports the Sudden Arrhythmia Death Syndrome (SADS) Foundation, the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, and sponsors academic scholarships at Hamden High School and the Yale University School of Nursing.
