About the race
RunThrough Trails South Downs takes place on 1 August 2027 and starts from Queen Elizabeth Country Park in the South Downs National Park. The event uses trails through rolling hills, ancient woodland and open chalk downland, including sections of the South Downs Way.
Routes offered:
- 12K route using sections of the South Downs Way
- 25K route through chalk downland and ancient woodland
- 50K route including extended sections of the South Downs Way
Runners can expect grassy tracks, woodland paths, climbs that open to wide views across Hampshire and Sussex, and fast-flowing descents. All routes are waymarked with trail flags, tags, A5 arrows and signage, and a GPX file is provided so participants can check navigation during the event. Marshals are present at major junctions and aid stations are stocked along the course.
The event includes an event village with food and drink options and post-race provisions. Entries include a unique themed medal, free race photos, chip-timed results and post-race goodies. An event t-shirt is available with a discount of more than 30 percent when purchased as part of the entry. The organiser also reports work on sustainability measures for RunThrough events.
