Carsington Water Trail Half Marathon & 10k
The Carsington Water Trail Half Marathon & 10k takes place on 4 December 2027 at Carsington Water Visitor Centre, Big Lane, Upper Town, Ashbourne DE6 1ST. The event uses an undulating trail route around the reservoir with views of the surrounding Derbyshire countryside and a winter waterside atmosphere.

The half marathon route records an elevation gain of 200 m. All routes are waymarked with trail flags, A5 arrows and signage, and marshals are positioned at major junctions. Organisers provide a GPX file so runners can check the route and self navigate if required. The route may be affected by weather, walkers or wildlife.
Entry includes a unique themed medal, free race photos, chip timed results, post race goodies and a bag drop. An event village offers food and drink and finish line goodies from partners.
Practical information includes minimum ages of 17 for the half marathon and 15 for the 10k. Paid parking is available with number plate recognition; Visitor Centre Car Park charges £3 for two hours or £5 for the day, and Millfields Car Park charges £2.50 for two hours or £4 for the day. The 10k start at Millfields Car Park is about 1.3 miles from the main event village.
Facilities include a secure baggage marquee and toilets at the visitor centre and Millfields. Water is provided at the 10k 5k point, at miles 3, 6 and 9 on the half marathon, and at the finish.
