Runstr 5K

The Runstr 5K is a competitive road race held in Washington, DC. The event takes place on a flat, scenic loop course located at Haines Point, offering views along the Potomac River. Participants compete at a distance of 3.1 miles (5 km).

This event functions as a charity race where the performance of the participants determines the distribution of funds. Runners choose to represent one of three specific organizations: the Human Rights Foundation, the ALS Network, or Chimes International. The charity that has the highest number of affiliated runners finishing within the top 100 overall positions receives a $500 donation.

The registration period opens in mid-January and remains available until the morning of the race. Following the completion of the run, an after-party brunch is hosted at Pubkey DC. This gathering includes live music and the presentation of awards for the participants. The race is held entirely within the Southwest area of the District of Columbia, starting and ending near the Potomac waterfront. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
