2026 Running with the Rays 5K
The Running with the Rays 5K is a community running event held in St. Petersburg, Florida. The race features a 5 km distance that takes participants through a scenic route starting on 1st Avenue South. The course travels through the streets of downtown St. Petersburg and routes through Al Lang Stadium before reaching the finish line at Tropicana Field.
Participants in the 5 km event receive several items as part of their registration, including a commemorative medal, a race t-shirt, a timing chip, and a race bib. Additionally, registration includes ticket vouchers for professional sports events: one for a Tampa Bay Rays baseball game against the Minnesota Twins and one for a Tampa Bay Rowdies soccer match.
The event recognizes top performers across various categories. Custom hats are awarded to the first-place overall male and female finishers, as well as winners in the Masters (40+) and Grand Masters (50+) divisions. Awards are also provided for first-place finishers in specific age groups ranging from 9 and under to 80 and older.
For those traveling by vehicle, free parking is available in specific Tropicana Field parking lots with access from 16th Street. All participants are required to complete a formal waiver to take part in the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
