Running with the Herd 5k
Running with the Herd 5k is the ninth annual community running event held in The Villages, Florida on February 27, 2027. The event takes place at 251 Buffalo Trail, The Villages, FL 32162, and includes multiple activities for children and adults.
Event distances and activities:
- 5K race for general participants.
- 100 meter Stampede Sprint for participants 10 and under.
- Herd Hurdle Havoc Obstacle Course for participants ages 3 to 12.
Participant items and awards are provided. All participants in the Stampede Sprint and the obstacle course receive a plastic participation medal. Registered 5K runners may receive a T-shirt if they register before January 26, 2026, and finishers of the 5K receive a 2026 finisher medal. The 5K also offers awards for men overall, women overall, and first through third place in each age group.
Registration fees are given for event categories. For the 5K, registration is $25 for participants 17 or younger and $35 for adults. The Stampede Sprint has a registration fee of $2 and the Herd Hurdle Havoc Obstacle Course has a registration fee of $5.
Packet pickup is available at The Villages Charter Middle School Buffalo Ridge Campus (251 Buffalo Trail). Registration will also be available at packet pickup and on race morning, and acceptable forms of payment include cash and credit card; cash payments should be for the exact amount.
