Running with the Herd 5k takes place on Saturday, February 21, 2026 in The Villages, Florida. The event site is listed as 251 Buffalo Trail, The Villages, FL 32162. The program includes a 5-kilometer race, a 100-meter kids race called the Stampede Sprint, and the Herd Hurdle Havoc obstacle course. The Stampede Sprint is open to ages 3 to 10. The obstacle course is offered for children ages 3 to 12. Registered 5k runners who register before February 1, 2026 will receive a t-shirt, and finishers of the 5k will receive a 2026 finisher medal. Participants in the Stampede Sprint and the Herd Hurdle Havoc obstacle course will receive a plastic participation medal. The 5k will include awards for men overall, women overall, and first through third place in each age group.

Entry listings show a current registration availability of 498 spots and a listed price that increases after December 31, 2025. Age-based discounts apply for younger registrants. Packet pickup is scheduled for Friday, February 20, 2026 at The Villages Charter Middle School Buffalo Ridge Campus (251 Buffalo Trail) and there is additional packet pickup on the morning of the event.
