Running With The Devil
Running With The Devil on June 27, 2026 is a multi-distance road running festival held on Lovell Canyon Road in the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area within the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest, about a 30 minute drive from the Las Vegas Strip. The paved course covers rolling and gradually uphill terrain and begins at roughly 4,500 feet elevation. Vegetation along the route includes Joshua trees, pinyon-juniper, mountain rose, and sagebrush. Daytime highs can reach about 95 to 100 degrees, with cooler conditions than the Las Vegas Valley; on-course provisions are provided to help runners manage the heat.
Distances offered:
- 5K
- 10K
- 1/2 Marathon
- Marathon
- 50K
There are two separate starts for the 5K and the 10K using the same course to allow runners to attempt back-to-back events; award types differ between the two starts for those distances. Aid stations supply water and Gatorade in cups and can refill bottles. Ultra aid stations include ice, cold towels, energy gel, and basic first aid; toilets are listed at several locations. Marathon and 50K runners must carry a hydration system with a minimum of 24 ounces. All finishers receive a medal and awards are given by overall and by age group with event-specific variations.
Practical notes: packet pickup is race day only, parking is at or near the start/finish, and primitive camping is available at the venue. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
