Running with Raccoons 5K
The Running with Raccoons is the tenth annual 5K run/walk held at Camp Tecumseh in Brookston, IN on Sunday, April 25, 2027. The event raises funds for Camp Tecumseh’s campership fund and combines a timed race with a recreational atmosphere on camp grounds.
The course is chip timed and follows a route that begins in Lake Village in the pioneer settlement and finishes at Kampen lodge. The route travels down Lake Road, through River Village and a pine forest, then returns along the Lake Village cabins. The course map is subject to change because of construction.
Race-day packet pick-up takes place at Camp Tecumseh and includes a bib, a gift, a T-shirt for early registrants, and additional items. Parking is organized at the Tecumseh Leadership Center parking lot and the Kampen & Scheumann parking lot, with possible overflow parking across the road; participants walk to the lodges from those lots.
Participants are advised to bring suitable shoes, appropriate clothing, and a water bottle. All-terrain strollers are permitted for small children. Pets and bicycles should be left at home. Photos from recent and previous races are available for review. Information about sponsorship for the 2027 race is provided by the organizer.
