Running Wild supports Alpine Search and Rescue as the event charity partner. Alpine Search and Rescue provide radio communications, first aid and search and rescue services on course. ASAR is volunteer run, receives no government funding and relies on community contributions; runners and past events have helped raise over $188,000 for ASAR and related causes over the last 12 years.
Organisers note that they cannot eliminate all risk; participants are advised to train for running in storms, snow and at night and to be prepared for variable conditions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
