Event overview
Mt Feathertop - Day 2 is part of the Bright Alpine Climb 4 Peaks on Sunday 2 November 2025. The course distance is 12.0 km with a vertical climb of 1650 m. The event uses a staggered start with separate start periods for walkers and runners; participants self-select a start within the available start periods. Competitive entrants must start in the final start period to be eligible for overall titles. Participants must check in at the start line so their number is recorded as they begin.
Course and logistics
The race starts at Tavare Park in Harrietville and follows Bungalow Spur Track to the summit of Mt Feathertop, passing Federation Hut. In bad weather the course may be shortened to finish at Federation Hut at the 11 km mark. There is no organised food or water on the course; water at Federation Hut is untreated. Participants are expected to be self-sufficient for food and hydration. Toilet facilities are available across the footbridge and there are portaloos. A coffee van operates outside Mountain View Retreat across the footbridge. Local organisers request no parking in Pioneer Park adjacent to Tavare Park; parking is available along Feathertop Track adjacent to Tavare Park. All participants must check in at Event HQ on return.
