Running Scared 5K/13K - Denver
This event offers in-person and virtual race options around the Platte River area, based at Platte River Bar & Grill in Littleton, Colorado. Distances available include a 5K, a 13K, and an 18K Deadly Double that combines both races.
- 5K Scaredy Cat in-person and virtual options
- 13K Heart Pounding in-person and virtual options
- 18K Deadly Double combines the 5K and 13K
Participants in the in-person events receive a long-sleeve race shirt and a custom finisher medal. Some in-person entries are offered as no-shirt options. Virtual entries are limited to the Continental US and include mailed race swag.
The Deadly Double requires completion of the 5K followed by the 13K with a specified turnaround time between races; finishers of the Deadly Double earn a separate finisher medal in addition to the race shirt. Costumes are encouraged for the Halloween themed atmosphere.
Awards are planned for top finishers: the top three male and female overall in the 5K and 13K, top three in Masters, Grand Masters, and Senior Masters overall categories, plus the top three in five-year age groups for each distance. The Deadly Double also has awards for the top three male and female finishers who complete both races. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
