Running Scared 5K and 13K Denver
The Running Scared event offers Halloween themed 5K and 13K road races on the Platt River Trail in Denver. Costumes are encouraged and the event atmosphere centers on seasonal spirit.

All participants receive a long sleeve race shirt and a custom finisher medal. The 5K course is certified. The course is described as very flat and family and spectator friendly. Self-serve water stations will be available at about every 1.5 miles; participants who prefer not to stop may bring personal hydration.
Awards are given to the top three male and female overall finishers in each distance, and to top three Masters, Grand Masters, and Senior Masters overall. Age group awards are given to the top three in the standard five year age groups for both distances. Special recognition is given to the top three male and female finishers of the Deadly Double.
A virtual race option is available; virtual participants can submit times online and view results the Monday after the event date. Teams and fundraising options are also available.
