Running Scared 5K and 13K - Denver
This Halloween-themed running event in Denver offers timed road races with an in-person option at Platt River Trail and a virtual option for remote participation. Costumes are encouraged. All in-person athletes receive a long-sleeve race shirt and a custom finisher medal. The deadline to guarantee a shirt in the requested size is October 7.

- Deadly Double (complete both races)
The 5K course is certified. The course is described as very flat and family and spectator friendly. Self-serve water stations will be available approximately every 1.5 miles; participants who plan not to stop may want personal hydration. Participants in the 13K must maintain at least a 16 minute per mile pace to finish.
Awards are given to the Top Three Male and Female Overall finishers in both distances and to the Top Three in Masters, Grand Masters, and Senior Masters Overall categories. The top three athletes in traditional five-year age groups receive awards in both distances. Special recognition is given to the Top Three Male and Female finishers of the Deadly Double.
The virtual option allows runners to complete the distance remotely, submit results online after the event date, and be eligible for awards and event merchandise. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
