Running Scared 5K/13K - Winston Salem
Running Scared is a Halloween-themed race day at Jamison Park in Winston-Salem on October 3, 2026. The event includes in-person and virtual options and features music, Halloween goodies, and activity at the start and finish areas.
Available distances:
- 5K in-person and virtual options
- 13K in-person and virtual options
- 18K Deadly Double run the 5K then the 13K for an 18K total
Virtual participants complete their distance remotely, submit their time, and receive mailed race swag. The Deadly Double requires completing the 5K then returning within 30 minutes to run the 13K and awards a Deadly Double finisher medal in addition to the event shirt.
Registration opens June 18, 2026; closing dates vary by event. Registration fees range from $30.00 to $55.00 depending on the chosen event and options.
Participants receive event shirts and finisher medals. Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers, top three male and female masters, grand masters, senior masters, and the top three finishers in the regular five-year age groups.
